The word “art” became popular after the 1700s. In most cultures and societies around the world the word art refers to a talent or skill that creates a visually pleasing result. The individuals that specialize in creating art are called artists.

There are artists that create all types of art. Some of the most popular types of art include: paintings, sculptures, drawings and sketches. But art does not only refer to the object or item that is created by an artist. It also refers to the study of art, the process of using a creative skill and an individual’s experience with different forms of art.

Art is a craft that has existed since ancient times. That fact is evident in the glorious paintings and sculptures that grace the walls of museums around the globe. Many great artists are featured in these museums. Some of the most popular include: Rembrandt, Monet, da Vinci, Picasso and Van Gogh. All of these great artists had one thing in common; they used high quality arts & crafts supplies.

One of the most well-known artists in the world is Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo da Vinci was famous for many things; of the things that he was famous for, art was his most popular pastime. He was a painter, sculptor, musician and writer. But he was probably most well-known for his paintings. Leonardo was the painter behind both the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper.

While not everyone has the same level of talent as Leonardo da Vinci, anyone can be creative. Whether a person plays a musical instrument, is a writer or a painter, they can be considered a creative person.

Even crafty people can be considered artists. There are many crafty people that make businesses out of their crafts. These items can be sold on the Internet and at local craft fairs and famers markets. People make everything from handbags and shopping bags to soaps, lotions and household items.

Crafty people who sell their wares on the Internet usually used a large amount of art supplies. Art supplies are important for every artist. For a painter these items are brushes and paint, while a modern day writer uses a computer and reference books.

The love of crafts and art is evident in most creative people. Today, there are artists and craftspeople that work with every medium. They create the most unique items that are available on the market today from paintings to craft items, wood and clay items.

Regardless of the type of artist, Artexplore.com is here to serve as a reference point for all creative people. Please continue to check back with us for updates in the art world.
